. Curieux de savoir ce que deux musiciens de renommée internationale pensaient de notre expérience, j’ai rencontré Eric Lebrun et Marie-Ange Leurent.
. Eager to know what two world-famous musicians thought about our experiment, I interviewed Eric Lebrun and Marie-Ange Leurent about Jean-Baptiste Pinault’s improvisations under hypnosis.
. Éric Lebrun, 48 ans, ancien élève de Gaston Litaize et de Michel Chapuis, et aujourd’hui organiste mondialement connu. À 23 ans, il a été nommé titulaire du grand orgue de l’église Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts à Paris, où il a enregistré notamment les œuvres complètes de Jehan Alain, Maurice Duruflé et César Franck. Il est aussi compositeur et auteur d’une trentaine d’œuvres. Il a, entre autres, enseigné à la Sorbonne et fondé le cours de Didactique du fameux CNSM, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. Il est aujourd’hui professeur d’orgue au Conservatoire de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés et membre rapporteur de la Commission nationale des Monuments historiques.
. Eric Lebrun, 48, was a pupil of Gaston Litaise and Michel Chapuis and he has become a world-famous organist. At the age of 23, he was appointed titular-organist for the church of Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts in Paris, where he recorded the complete works of Jehan Alain, Maurice Duruflé and César Franck, among others. He is also a composer and the author of about thirty compositions. He taught at Paris-Sorbonne University notably, and created the Course of didactics given at the CNSM, the famous National Music Conservatory in Paris. Today, he is an organ teacher at the Conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, and a member acting as spokesman for the French National Commission of Historic Monuments.
. Marie-Ange Leurent est la femme d’Éric Lebrun. Elle a, comme lui, étudié l’orgue auprès de Gaston Litaize, mais aussi de Marie-Claire Alain. Elle est sortie du CNSM avec un premier prix d’orgue dans la classe de Michel Chapuis, et, à 22 ans, elle a été nommée organiste titulaire du grand orgue de l’église Notre-Dame-de-Lorette à Paris. Elle forme avec Eric un duo réputé sur le plan international puisqu’ils ont enregistré, entre autres, une intégrale de l’œuvre d’orgue de Buxtehude, organiste et compositeur allemand du 17e siècle. Marie-Ange a été professeur de formation musicale au CNSM de Paris et a enseigné l’écriture musicale à l’université de Paris IV – Sorbonne. Elle est aujourd’hui professeur d’orgue aux conservatoires de musique de Clichy et Saint-Mandé, et a été le professeur d’orgue de Jean-Baptiste Pinault.
. Marie-Ange Leurent is Eric’s wife. She studied the organ with Gaston Litaize like Eric, and also with Marie-Claire Alain. She was at the CNSM, where she won first prize in organ performance in Michel Chapuis’s class, and, at the age of 22, she was appointed titular-organist for the church of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette in Paris. Together with Eric, she forms a reputable duet at a national and international level since she recorded, among others, the complete organ works of Buxtehude, an organist and composer of the 17th century. Today, she is an organ teacher at the music conservatories of Clichy and Saint-Mandé. She also taught musical composition at Paris-Sorbonne University, and previously musical training at the CNSM in Paris. She was Jean-Baptiste Pinault’s organ teacher.
